Works of composer Otmar Mácha for Children

This work aims to explore the artistic development of the personality of the composer Otmar Mácha and his work in cultural and social contexts, to focus on his works intended for children and youth and to assess the possibilities of using his work in contemporary music education. It follows the beginnings of the composer's musical career and pays attention to the influences that shaped his personality and gave the unique character of his musical language. It examines the influence of regional musical culture, its roots, and artistic personalities that the composer met during his professional development and followed up on in his creative work. It analyzes the selected works from the point of view of their significance for aesthetic education and the development of children's musical imagination. In the composer's work, he looks for works that, through the emotional experience of a musical message, shape aesthetic feelings and values in the development of a child's personality. SUMMARY: The diploma thesis deals with the life and work of an important pedagogue and music theoretician prof. PhDr. Eva Jenčková, CSc. It analyzes her present pedagogic, scientific and publishing activities, her efforts in the field of integrative music education and her contribution to education of music teachers by publishing of methodological materials and organizing various courses and seminars. The thesis is include an interview with Eva Jenčková, a photo attachment and research of her influence on musical practice.
Present state of listening activities in elementary school music lessons, and didactic suggestions for the integration of these activities in school teaching

The present state of listening activities in elementary school music lessons, and didactic suggestions for the integration of these activities in school teaching The thesis looks into the employment of listening activities at contemporary Czech schools. Its primary aim is to boost the motivation of school children to listen to classical music by means of choosing their preferred pieces in music lessons. The thesis consists of two parts, the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part analyses available sources connected with listening activities, such as materials for teachers, and textbooks certified by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports as one of possible tools. It looks into the place of listening activities in the contemporary Czech curriculum, and presents also information about listening from the music therapy point of view. The practical part analyses the present situation in the employment of listening activities at our schools. It detects spontaneous preferences of pupils in listening to classical music, and suggests how to use these spontaneous preferences to enhance the quality of music education at school, and build and encourage positive attitude of school children to classical music. The content of the dissertation work is the professional characteristics of a prominent Czech music educator Prof. PhDr. Eva Jenčková, CSc. It introduces the breadth of her scientific, pedagogical and musical organizational activities, and characterizes the main areas of her professional interest. It focuses on music education didactics at all levels of schooling, the enrichment of music repertoire including methodological arrangements, music for children in context of theoretical, interpretative, and music pedagogy aspects. It also outlines the optimal preparation of music education students and further education of music teachers, implemented in our country and abroad in a form of creative music workshops. One of the main subjects of her publications is movement in music education. Based on the content analysis of Eva Jenckova's complex music pedagogy work and the assessments of other education professionals, this publication presents the characteristics of her multi layered personality and her professional mastery.
